Late Rally Keys Wawasee’s 11-3 Win Over WestviewTOPEKA – Wawasee scored nine times in the top of the sixth inning to earn an 11-3 win at Westview in the girls softball season-opener for both teams Saturday afternoon. Kayla White went 2 for 3 with three runs batted in. Meghan Fretz was the winning pitcher, striking out eight and walking just one batter in seven innings of work from the circle. She also had a hit and drove in a pair of runs. Wawasee opens the home portion of its schedule at 5 p.m. today against Lakeland.
