NORTH WEBSTER – The Lakeland Regional Sewer District Board spent the majority of their 1-1/2-hour meeting Thursday reviewing expenditures, billing and anticipation of future expenses as the project is coming to completion. The project is scheduled to be substantially completed by the end of the year. It was noted that Project A is about 70 percent finished, and the majority of the work needed for completion is the installation of the grinder stations. Contract B is 97 percent completed. The board voted unanimously to use USI Insurance of Cincinnati at an annual premium of $4,981 for coverage of that portion of the entire project when completion is reached and the District assumes ownership. At this point, the project is insured under contractors’ insurance policies. The board had received a second quote of $5,710 from IMIP. The wastewater station portion of the project is at 87 percent completion. Work continues for plumbing and electrical installation. Edward Dunn, Crane Pumps & Systems, appeared before the board to explain how his company proposes to install brackets in 19 of the basins that still need repairs. Guiderails on the basins did not allow for the installations of pumps. The company was able to alter the equipment in other basins, however, 19 of the 200 basins could not be fixed with the method. Dunn demonstrated a mockup of the bracket that Crane engineers suggested. Dunn said his company will inspect the basins at no charge for the next three years. After questioning from the board, he said the 20-year warranty would still be in place. The board voted unanimously to accept the agreement.
