Continuously serving Kosciusko County since 1854
SYRACUSE – While technically a road match, Wawasee’s girls golf team didn’t have to travel far to claim a 201-225 win over host West Noble at South Shore Golf Club Wednesday.
Belle Brunner paced the Lady Warriors with a 49, with Jadison Rostochak and Lesley Tayagua close behind at 50 each. Zoe White carded a 52 and Ava Harker had a 55 for Wawasee.
West Noble’s Hanna Godfrey was the medalist with a 42.
“There was good and there was bad in our play tonight,” Wawasee coach Steve Coverstone said. “The bad was we had too many holes with big numbers. The good is that the girls were patient and determined to overcome them.”
Wawasee will host its invitational tournament at South Shore on Saturday.
