Lady Squires Win OpenerMONROE – Emma West scored 12 points, and hit all eight of her free throws, to lead Manchester to a 49-19 season-opening girls basketball win at Adams Central Saturday night.
Kiera Hatifield had 11 points and Kerigan Hatfield pulled down eight rebounds in the non-conference game. Erika Kendall had six points and six boards in the matchup.
“Great team win tonight,” coach Jacob Everett said. “I’m proud of our girls effort on both sides of the ball. We’re looking forward to the continued effort this week with three games upcoming.”
Those three contests will all be on the road for the Lady Squires: Tuesday at Lewis Cass, Wednesday at Warsaw and Saturday at Bluffton.
The junior varsity game was won by Manchester 36-19 over the Lady Jets. Eva Bazzoni had 13 points and Gabbie Brewer 11 points for the Lady Squires.
