Lady Squires Advance To Golf RegionalHUNTINGTON – Manchester’s girls golf team advanced to regional play with a second-place finish in the Huntington North Sectional at Norwood Golf Club Saturday.
The Lady Squires had a team score of 363, well behind host Huntington North’s 346 and 10 shots better than third place and regional qualifier Madison-Grant.
Kelsey Eichenauer paced Manchester with an 87, with Lydia Little at 88 and Madyson Ulrey at 89. Samantha Kissell finished with a 99 and Cora Barnett shot 105.
“We did not play well on the back nine today,” Manchester coach Josh Troyer said. “We’re pretty frustrated about the back nine today. It is not what we wanted or expected.
“We need to get to work to improve before the regional Saturday. I‘m proud of our 173, our season low on the front, but 190 on the back was nowhere near what we are capable of.”
The Lady Squires move on to play at the East Noble Regional at Noble Hawk Golf Links, with first tee scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
