Kenneth R. Melton Sr., 89, Copemish, Mich., passed away July 17, 2018.
He was a Korean War veteran.
He was born in McRoberts, Ky., to Bernard and Sylvia Melton and was one of seven children. The first half of his life he lived around Rochester, and the last half of his life he lived in northern Michigan.
He is survived by nine children: Diana (Rex) Yarian, Indiana; Koni Prentice, Texas; Fred “Sherryl” Melton (companion Turner), Indiana; Ken Melton Jr., Pennsylvania; Phillip “Randy” Melton, Texas; Rick (Sherry) Schmitzer, Michigan; Vicki (Grant) Myers, Indiana; Tammy Walden, Michigan; and Bruce Melton, Michigan. There are too numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren to name.
Some of his ashes will be spread in Alaska and the rest will be buried with his late wife, Gale.
He requested no services. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
