SOUTH WHITLEY – Kathy J. Roberts, 57, of rural South Whitley, went to be with the Lord at 10:21 a.m. July 6, 2013, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, where she was admitted June 11. She was born Oct. 11, 1995, in Columbia City, to Richard J. and Marilyn J. Blain Bolinger. On Sept. 22, 2009, she married Wayne A. Roberts, who survives in South Whitley. They made their home in rural South Whitley. Her formative years were spent in South Whitley. She graduated from Whitko High School in 1974. She was employed by Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance for 17 years, starting in the Whitley County branch and more recently working at the North Manchester branch. Prior, she worked at the South Whitley Elementary School as a teacher’s assistant. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, South Whitley. Also surviving are two daughters, Mindy (and spouse Bret) Foltz, Yorktown, and Marci Baker, Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; a sister, Deborah (and spouse Tim) Collier, Pierceton; and her mother, Marilyn Bolinger, Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Bolinger; and three brothers. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, South Whitley, with Pastor Robert Barton officiating. Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Smith and Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley, and one hour prior to the service at the church. ***** Memorials may be made to Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America.
