Staff Report-
Monday’s dinner will feature Julia Holcomb, who dated rock star Steven Tyler. Holcomb is expected to share her story of how Tyler, the lead singer of Aerosmith, coerced her into having an abortion in the mid 1970s. She later lamented the decision in a 2012 autobiography. “Julia Holcomb’s story is intriguing because of its star power but painfully common among so many young people today who are faced with unplanned, unintended pregnancies,” said Peter Heck, an author, speaker, teacher and broadcaster who will serve as the master of ceremonies for the banquet. “Her and Mr. Tyler’s regret illustrate the side of the abortion story our media overwhelmingly neglects, and I’m thrilled to be part of an event that will provide hope and truth our culture desperately needs.” Tickets to the banquet are $25. The event at the Manahan Orthopedic Capital Center at Grace College begins at 6 p.m. For details, call 574-306-7406 or visit www.ProLifeBanquet.com. Money from the event will be used by the group to fund publicity as well as numerous projects, including support for the Heartline Pregnancy Center’s mobile pregnancy center, which provides pregnancy tests, ultra-sounds and other services at various locations around Warsaw, said Dave Koontz, executive director of North Central Indiana Right to Life.
