WAKARUSA – Juan Juarez, 84, of 22977 CR 50, New Paris, died of natural causes at 5:30 p.m. July 11, 2011, in his residence.
He was born June 26, 1927, in Villa Hildago, Jalisco, Mexico, to Dario and Eufracia Juarez. On April 20, 1953, in Columbia City, he married Antonia Avaloz, who died March 30, 2010.
He moved to the United States in 1946, and to the Nappanee area in 1960. He was a truck driver for more than 25 years and was a former member of the Warsaw Moose Lodge.
Surviving are three daughters: Janie (and spouse Felipe) Hilburn, Lubbock, Texas; Gloria (and spouse Jim) Hileman, Zanesville; and Diana (and spouse Rodney) Mathewson, Elkhart; five sons: Juan (and spouse Joan) Juarez Jr., Middlebury; Clem (and spouse Jackie) Juarez, Wakarusa; Silver Juarez, Wyatt; and Santiago Juarez and Robert (and spouse Sally) Juarez, all of New Paris; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Maria Ponce, Phoenix, Ariz. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Chapel, Wakarusa, with the Rev. Darin Simms officiating. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.
