Johnie Hurd, 81, Warsaw, died Aug. 7, 2008, at his residence.
He was born June 11, 1927, in Lancer, Ky., to Edgar and Fannie England Hurd. On Oct. 6, 1947, in Akron, he married Lily Mae Yates, who survives.
He lived most of his life in Kosciusko County. He was a diesel mechanic for Warsaw Trucking for 40 years, and a member of Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall.
Also surviving are a son, Dannie (and spouse Amy) Hurd, Warsaw; two daughters, Regina (and spouse Don) Ervin, Warsaw, and Wanda Hurd, Palestine; six brothers: Albert (and spouse Lois) Hurd, Warsaw; Charles (and spouse Della) Hurd, Forrest City, Alaska; Earmel (and spouse Jo Beth) Hurd, Cabool, Mo.; Robert Hurd, Lonnie Hurd and Woodrow Hurd, all of Prestonsburg, Ky.; three sisters: Bonnie (and spouse Ted) Harman, Warsaw; Edna (and spouse Amos) Poe, Claypool; and Marsive Hurd, Cabool; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Vern, Russell, Connie, Glen and Bernie Hurd; and sisters Belva Cain and Alice Hurd.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
