NAPPANEE - John R. "Hookie" Stuckman, 89, of 316 Woodies Lane, Bremen, and formerly of Nappanee, died at 9:50 a.m. Aug. 11, 2007, in Bremen Health Care.
He was born March 28, 1918, in Gravelton, to Lawrence and Gale Arnott Stuckman.
Living in Nappanee most of his life, he was a cabinet maker at Coppes Kitchens, Nappanee, and a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Nappanee American Legion Post 154 and Goshen Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 985.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Fred (Joan) Franks, Payson, Ariz.; and two brothers, George Stuckman, Bicknell, and Jim Stuckman, Bremen.
A memorial service was at 10:30 p.m. today at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with the Rev. Chuck Krieg officiating. There will be cremation and military graveside services.
