FORT WAYNE — Joe Neal Hiatt, 89, Cromwell, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Center for Hospice Care, Elkhart.
Mr. Hiatt was born Nov. 24, 1928, in Noblesville, to Henry Hiatt and Margaret Fisher. He served his country honorably with the United States Navy.
On June 13, 1959, he married Annette Pearl in Springfield, Tenn.
Joe worked as a brick layer for 30 years. He also worked for Coachmen for 20 years.
Joe loved golf, bowling and helicopters, He had a sweet tooth and enjoyed doughnuts and cake.
Joe loved to spend time with his family and loved ones.
Survivors include his spouse, Annette Hiatt, Cromwell; daughter, Jeannette Montgomery, Cromwell; son, James (Constance) Adams, Leesburg; grandchildren: Cody Freeman, Kaylie Adams, Lauren Adams and Luke Adams; great-grandchildren: Isaiah Freeman, Isabel Freeman and Addyson Freeman; and one great-grandchild on the way.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: George, Tommy and Ralph Hiatt.
A memorial service with military honors will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at American Legion Post 253, 756 S. Main St., North Webster. Officiating the memorial service will be Pastor Gary Colby.
Arrangements were entrusted to Northern Indiana Funeral Care, Fort Wayne.
