SYRACUSE - Joan M. Borne, 78, of Syracuse, died at 7:45 a.m. April 24, 2009, in Miller's Merry Manor, Syracuse.
She was born March 17, 1931, in Decatur, to Elias and Areda Werling Lichtenstiger. On Nov. 24, 1951, in Augusta, Ga., she married Roger D. Borne, who died in 1998.
She graduated from Decatur High School in 1949, and formerly worked at General Electric, Decatur, Bellmont High School Library and Reppert School of Auctioneering.
Surviving are two daughters, Beth (and spouse Dan) Klaybor, Syracuse, and Terri (and spouse Terry) Laurent, Decatur; a son, Greg (and spouse Kathleen) Borne, Chandler, Ariz.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Bill (and spouse Hazel) Lichtenstiger, Ossian, and Jerry (and spouse Eleanor) Lichtenstiger, Akron, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a brother.
A private service will be at Decatur Cemetery.
Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
