Jesus Christ Is Risen As Easter Is Celebrated Sunday

Posted

In the book of Revelations even “no mores” are listed in relation to eternity and the new heaven and new earth coming one day.
As we prepare to celebrate Easter, the hope we have in Jesus is encapsulated in these verses of why He came to this world. We are told there will be no more sea. This seems a strange one but the waters were treacherous in Biblical times. There will be no more sorrow. Crying is reserved for this age. Pain will cease. The curse of sin will no longer rule this world.
It seems that darkness grows as evil abounds. But there will come a day when the “old order of things has passed away.” There will be no darkness in the New Heaven and New Earth. The eternal light of God the Father will permeate everything!
“There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light, and they will reign for ever and ever.” Revelation 22:5
But the greatest promise is that there will be no more death!
In Revelation 1:18, Jesus says, “I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of death.”
The grave is not the end! Jesus Christ, the Son of God, left the tomb and rose from the dead! We are all going to die but if we believe that He was raised from the dead, repent of our sins and proclaim Him as king of our lives we will be saved. This life and its struggles will be “no more” in the kingdom of God!
David Phelps sings a favorite song of mine, “The timeless theme, earth and heaven will pass away. It's not a dream, God will make all things new that day. Gone is the curse from which I stumbled and fell. Evil is banished to eternal hell. See all around, now the nations bow down to sing. The only sound is the praises to Christ, our King. Slowly the names from the book are read. I know the king, so there's no need, no need to dread. No more night, no more pain. No more tears, never crying again. And praises to the great ‘I am,’ We will live in the light of the risen lamb!” Christ is risen, He is risen indeed!
