MENTONE – Jerry L. Busenburg, 78, of Huntington and formerly of rural Mentone, passed at 10:05 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019, at Miller’s Merry Manor of Huntington.
He was born on Dec. 13, 1940, in Mentone, to Everett and Dorothy Mehnke Busenburg. He was married on Sept. 22, 2007, in Huntington, to Geraldine Dolby. She survives.
He worked for Monarch Enterprises of Syracuse and Middlebury, then he drove for Coachmen of Middlebury, and lastly for Warsaw Black Oxide of Burket.
He was a graduate of Talma High School in 1959. He had been a member of Riverview Community Church of Tippecanoe.
Jerry drove the road since 1969, traveling to every state and also Canada. He collected International and Farmall toy tractors and attended farm and tractor shows.
Jerry was fond of the Chicago Cubs and attending car shows. He always enjoyed farming and camping.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Busenburg, Huntington; daughters, Sherri (and husband Randy) Reneker, Warsaw, and Pam (and husband Allen) Sellers, Etna Green; stepsons, Delbert Burton Jr. (and wife Deb), Auburn, and Rick (and wife Audrea) Burton, Columbus, Ohio; stepdaughters, Anita Runion, Huntington, and Deanna Burton (and husband Eric Cole), Woodstock, Ga.; grandchildren: Travis (and wife Megan) Reneker, Tyler (and wife Tori) Reneker, Trisha (and husband Darin) Lursen, Andrew (and wife Ashley) Sellers and Courtney Sellers; great-grandchildren: Zackary, Jordan, Elijah, Asher and Peyton; 11 stepgrandchildren; nine great-stepgrandchildren; and a brother, David (and wife Sheila) Busenburg, Warsaw.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Dorothy Mehnke Busenburg.
Services will be at noon Monday, Feb. 4, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Pastor Rodney Ruberg officiating. Burial will be in Sycamore Cemetery, Mentone.
