Jeffrey Lee Heckaman, 53, of 211 E. Prairie St., Leesburg, and Chipley, Fla., went across the river to be with his love of 33 years at 9:18 Jan. 4, 2008, in Chipley, Fla.
He was born June 17, 1953, in Warsaw, to Howard and Jennie Gall Heckaman. On Dec. 22, 1973, in Leesburg, he married Kay, who died Oct. 4, 2006.
A longtime Leesburg resident, he owned Jeff's Handyman Service for more than 20 years. He was enthusiastic about life and all of the fun it had to offer. He had a spirit that could only match his wife's. He had a kind heart that was always willing to help someone in need. He was a caring, loving man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are a daughter, Jaime Carlson, Leesburg; two nieces, Lorri Brookins and Amanda Murphy; a sister-in-law, Connie Young; and mother- and father-in-law, Donald and Barbara Vetor.
No services are planned. There will be cremation.
Brown's Funeral Home, Chipley, is in charge of arrangements.
