Jean H. McHatton, 95, of Warsaw, passed away at 5:50 a.m. Sept. 5, 2012, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. She was born July 5, 1917, in Marshall County to Andrew J. and Ruby Heisler Hall. On July 25, 1937, in Akron, she married Gerald McHatton, who died March 8, 2000. She was a Warsaw resident since 1949 and was formerly of Akron. She was a 1935 graduate of Bourbon High School and was co-owner of McHatton Funeral Home and Ambulance Service, Warsaw, from 1955-71. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Warsaw, where she served as a Ladies Circle leader, a former member and past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star and a former Daughters of the American Revolution and Warsaw Junior Homemakers Club member. Surviving are three daughters: Nancy (and spouse Ted) Beer, Leesburg; Judy (and spouse Don) Wray, Warsaw; and Barbara (and spouse John) Knipp, Fort Wayne; a sister, Jennie Green, Warsaw; grandchildren Dawn Allen (and fiancé Jay Paul) and Daniel (and spouse Ginger) Wray, all of Warsaw; Jason (and spouse Kristi) Beer, Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.; Kristin (and spouse Matt) Coffey, Indianapolis; and Michael (and spouse Rachel Mathis) Knipp, Fort Wayne; and five great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two brothers. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, officiated by Pastor David Smitley of North Webster United Methodist Church.
