Jane Jontz, 87, of Winona Lake, passed away at 5:55 a.m. March 26, 2013, in Grace Village Healthcare, Winona Lake. She was born March 5, 1926, in Winona Lake, to John Robert and Mary Eileen Martin Richards. On Nov. 28, 1948, she married Robert Samuel Jontz, who passed away June 19, 1994. A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, she farmed with her husband and was a member of West Eel River Church of the Brethren, Silver Lake. She was a 1944 graduate of Warsaw High School then went on to study for two years at International Business College, Fort Wayne. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Marsha (and spouse Phil) Barkey, Winona Lake, and Linda (and spouse Jim) Chakos, Coronado, Calif.; four grandchildren: Curt Barkey (and Kristin Mason), Warsaw; Ben (and spouse Danelle) Barkey, Winona Lake; and Diane and Barbra Chakos, both of Coronado; two great-grandchildren, Dylan and Aliah Barkey, both of Winona Lake; and a sister, Joan Neff, Kansas City, Kan. She also was preceded in death by her parents. A private graveside service will be April 8 at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, and officiated by Pastor Michael Smith. No calling is planned.
