COLUMBIA CITY – James M. Perry, 74, Columbia City, passed away Nov. 6, 2015, in his home. He was born June 18, 1941, in Tipton, to Chester and Sarah Snider Perry. A lifetime resident of Whitley County, he served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1963 to 1967. After his service to our country, he received his associates degree from Ivy Tech in electronic engineering. He worked several years for Magnavox. He then managed his father’s company. Surviving are two children, Emily (and spouse Jason) Williams, and David Perry, both of Columbia City; a sister, Margaret (and spouse Steve) Flack, Arlington, Texas, a niece and nephew; three grand-children, Katie, Jeremiah and Jordan, and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Pierceton Presbyterian Church. A graveside service will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton, following the memorial service with military honors by the Pierceton American Legion Post #258.
