SYRACUSE - James L. Close, 55, of the Barbee Lake area, died at 7:50 p.m. Aug. 28, 2007, in his residence.
He was born Dec. 26, 1951, in Marietta, Ohio, to Lewis and Mary Miller Close. On April 17, 1976, he married Lura "Jeannine" Wallace, who survives.
He moved to the Barbee Lake area in 1985 from Malta, Ohio. He worked at Midwest Roll Form, Pierceton, for 10 years and also worked as an electrician. He served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam from 1969-73, and was a member of the American Legion Post 253, North Webster.
Also surviving are his father, Lewis Close, Marietta; two daughters, Jamie Close, Leesburg, and Mrs. Patrick (Janet) Buchanan, Warsaw; two brothers, Galen Close, North Webster, and Melvin Close, North Carolina; a sister, Mrs. Clyde (Vicki) McDonald, West Virginia; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Harris Chapel, Syracuse.
