COLUMBIA CITY – Jack LeRoy Kneller, 88, Columbia City, passed away at 8:46 a.m. Jan. 5, 2014, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 9, 1925, in Columbia City, to Lester D. and Demaris Hosler Kneller. On Feb. 14, 1948, in Syracuse he married Carol “Darlene” Miller, who preceded him in death.
He was a lifetime resident of Whitley County and attended Columbia City High School. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from State Farm Insurance Company. He was a former member of American Legion Post 98 Columbia City and currently was a member of Post 253, North Webster.
Surviving are two children, Rick A. (and spouse Mick) Kneller, Syracuse, and Tamra J. Gordon, Columbia City. Also preceding him in death were his parents and a sister, Joy Melinger.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, Columbia City, with Certified Funeral Celebrant Sharon Brockhaus officiating. Military rites will be provided by American Legion Post 253. Burial will be at a later date at Nolt Cemetery.
