In response to all the recent letters about the England article:
I realize that when people pass away it's a tragic thing, and my sympathy to the England family. From what I've read it sounds like he just made a bad choice.
However for all the people grilling the Times-Union on the matter, I think the paper gets the picture now about the article written. News is exactly that, the news. Being a U.S. Marine deployed overseas, it's nice to to see the local news from back home, whether it's some crazy attempted murder/suicide trial, a DARE officer passing away, or one I have unfortunately come to terms with, and that's the Irish football team losing again and again. Good or bad, it is the paper's job to report it. Maybe they had a deadline and the story had to be published. Perhaps it was their source that messed up, or, yes, maybe it was just bad reporting.
All I am trying to say is, I think they have a grasp of the situation now, and it's time to move on. I think we could all find better things to do with our time. That's just my view of the matter though since every editorial I click on says the same thing. It'd be nice to have some variety.
