NORTH MANCHESTER — In Saturday's 52-40 road win over Manchester, Whitko senior guard Logan Irwin climbed up to No. 34 on the Indiana's all-time scoring list for boys basketball.
Scoring 24 points in the win, Irwin now has 2,039 career points, ranking just above Warsaw Community High School's Kevin Ault, who scored 2,028.
Irwin is now just two points behind 2004 White River Valley graduate A.J. Graves and three behind 1997 Logansport graduate Caleb Springer.
Against Manchester, Irwin hit just five field goals, but went 13 of 17 at the free-throw line, helping his team improve to 9-8 overall and 5-2 in the Three Rivers Conference.
Also for Whitko, junior Alex Stoddard scored eight points and junior Trey Weber netted six.
For Manchester, senior Derek Self and sophomore Clayton Petrie each had 11 points, while senior Connor McLaughlin had nine.
Both teams are back in action Friday, as Whitko hosts Fort Wayne Wayne and Manchester travels to Columbia City.

The Tippecanoe Valley boys basketball team has earned at least a share of its first Three Rivers Conference title since the 2007-08 season. Hosting the Rochester Zebras Saturday afternoon, the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings got the 54-39 victory, leaving them with a 14-3 overall record and 6-1 mark in the TRC. Northfield also has one loss in TRC play, sitting at 5-1, and has a game against Southwood still on its TRC schedule. With a win over Southwood, Valley and Northfield would share the conference title, but a loss would deliver the crown to Valley solely. Against Rochester, Valley junior Nick Kindig led the Vikings with 23 points, while sophomore Tanner Andrews had 12 and junior Jacob Ritchey scored eight. Valley travels to Bremen Tuesday night.
