AKRON - Irene E. Secor, 92, of 213 N. Mishawaka St., Akron, died at 1:25 p.m. Oct. 24, 2007, at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester.
She was born Dec. 8, 1914, in Miami County, to Wesley Bowen and Bertha Dukes. On June 28, 1936, in Rochester, she married Daniel Secor, who preceded her in death Oct. 13, 1966.
She was a business manager at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester, retiring after 27 years. She was a member of the Akron United Methodist Church and a member of the Amicus Club.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Karen) Fawcett, North Manchester, and Mrs. William (Janice) Brown, Zionsville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was the youngest of seven children, which included two brothers and four sisters who have all preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, with Pastor Karen Ottjes officiating. Burial will be at Akron Cemetery.
