The Warsaw boys’ and girls’ basketball programs are offering a 5-week youth league on Saturday mornings (1 Sunday) for all students in grades 1-4. This program is designed to teach young athletes the fundamentals of basketball, while still allowing them to experience live games. Each week players will have a 20-minute practice lead by the boys and girls high school players and staff, followed by two 16-minute games. There will be two divisions for boys and two divisions for girls and all players will be put in the appropriate division based on grade and skill level. Athletes who wish to participate in the Tiger Basketball Youth League will attend a skills evaluation on October 25th.
All first graders will be placed in the NAIA for girls NCAA division for boys. Fourth graders will be placed in the WNBA division for girls and NBA division for boys. Second and third graders will be placed in the appropriate division based on their skills evaluation score. Rims will be lowered to the appropriate height for each division. This is an opportunity for all fourth graders who do not make their elementary school team.
League dates are October 25th (skills evaluation), November 1, 8, 15, 23 and 29. No score will be kept for the first three weeks of league games as we introduce these young athletes to the game. The last two league dates will be more competitive as we begin to keep score and even offer a league tournament.
Skills evaluation will take place on October 25th from 9:00-11:00 am for both boys and girls. Players are free to leave once they have completed the evaluation process. We HIGHLY recommend attending so that we can place kids on competitively balanced teams.
Boys game sessions will begin at 9:00 am and at 10:15 am each week with girl’s game session starting at 11:30, with the exception of Sunday, November 23 rd, in which practices/games will begin at 1:00 pm and 2:15 pm. All practices and games will take place in the T-RAC at Warsaw High School. Please enter door 14. Your child will be given a schedule once teams have been selected.

All players must purchase their 2025 TBYL Shirt upon registration – The cost for the 5 week league is $50. Checks should be made payable to WCS.
