Immigrants

Here is my opinion on the immigration thing:

It boils down to this. If an illegal immigrant chooses to work in this country, that person should be allowed to pay taxes just like the rest of us U.S. citizens.

I don't have anything against illegals, or Mexicans for that matter, but I do have a problem with how some employers treat them in this town. They're treated like kings and queens around here, yet they don't have to pay taxes, and have every right to use our benefits and services? I don't think so. That's not right.

Those benefits come with a price, taken from families who are really struggling to make ends meet, and that price should mean they should have to pay income taxes just like the rest of us, and learn our language just like the rest of us have to. We should not have to accommodate for them, they can go to school and learn how to speak English as long as they choose to live in this country.

I have seen employers pay for their employees to go back to school to learn Spanish, thinking that just because of their heritage, that they're good employees, and that's just not true. Each employee works differently, and at a different pace, than any other employee, regardless of the heritage, and that's how it is. But yet I see it happen every day in this town. Factories who hire almost nothing but illegal immigrants who are on drugs or cocaine half the time while they're working, and let them get away with anything they want to. Just isn't fair.
