Editor, Times-Union:
With all the news media reporting about these latest issues with the illegals, I wanted to put my two cents in on this subject. I have written a letter to the editor on this subject before. If any good about this subject on the illegals has done anything, it has many people talking about it. Something was brought up in one of the many conversations I have been around. For an American citizen that has done something illegal when they are put in jail and they are parents of children. What happens to their children? I don’t ever hear anyone making a big deal about them being torn away from their parents!
The news media, once again, is really going way overboard on this. Since the news media was not allowed to film the children in the camps, then they recorded the babies crying. How do we know that wasn’t a ploy and it was actually a planted cry, like fake news!
Many of the things going on with this right now people are blaming President Trump. All he is doing is follow the rules that were put into effect when former President Obama and his people enacted the rules. President Trump was tired of the Democrats dragging their feet in getting some new immigration laws, so he just worked with the laws that were there.
Definition of illegal: "Contrary to the law; NOT legal." That is what the dictionary says.
Become an AMERICAN citizen when you come here.
It is sad that the countries they have come from are so corrupt, but why is that our fault?
Many parents want the best for their children, but American parents try and pay for their children to be better, not expect a foreign government to pay for it.
What if the role was reversed and we tried to flee our country? How would we be treated in other countries?
This is a very sad issue and our president is trying to do what he can. The news media and the Democrats aren’t giving him a chance. When former President Obama was in I did not go along with how he did things, but at least I respected him as he was our president.
