If We Test Welfare Recipients for Drugs, We Should Test Congressmen Too

I see the sheriff of Nottingham is at it again (i.e. da guvment).

The governor of Florida has decided to strike a blow for the economy. No, he’s not saying “stop the wars.” No, he’s not saying “tax the rich” 3 percent of the country who evade taxes. He doesn’t even insist on higher tariffs, or to quit NAFTA.

Governor Rick Scott wants to give everyone on welfare a drug test before they can collect their tiny checks! (By the way, is it true that he owned a string of drug-testing clinics before having ownership shifted into his wife’s name?)

If we are going to be democratic about it, then we must test congressmen and senators for drugs at least once a week. Why? Because they recei ve more welfare by far than our poor working class. But they don’t call it welfare – they call it subsidies, perks, foreign aid, etc. Many foreigners are on our welfare roles, and have been for decades. We borrow money to give it away. And we’re broke.

Our own congressman is on this welfare. You know – that guy with the Charlie Brown smile, the one all the old lady Republicans just adore. The Stutzman family has pulled down over a million dollars in welfare in just a few short years. But to a Republicrat or well-heeled Democrazy, it’s always “subsidies” – never “welfare.”

Come on, Marvin, the subsidies programs were for times long past when family farms were really in trouble. Being a fiscal conservative, you should immediately return those welfare checks to the Treasury. If not, pull down your pants, we taxpayers need to test you for drugs!
