Editor, Times-Union: The one question that comes to mind is: “Why do we have these places called hospitals?” Are they for “all” people who get sick or hurt in an accident? Are they for anyone that needs to be seen by a doctor even if they do not have insurance or a “family” doctor? Some of you will say yes, others will say no. To the ones that say yes, I have a question for you. Do you think these hospitals are doing the right thing (providing the right answers) to the ones with no insurance? To the ones that say no, I have a question for you. Who foots the bill for the ones with no insurance? After being to the hospital several times in the last four months, we still have no answer to, “What is wrong with my wife?” No tests have been performed to find the answer, only tests that are standard. It has done absolutely no good to tell them everything that has occurred in the last four months. They only guess as to what the answer is, or is it to just get us out the door? I think if they would run the right tests they would probably come up with the correct diagnosis. So far they have been completely wrong every time, and I am beginning to think it is time to see a lawyer. One thing I am sure about is, if it were me going into this same hospital, more tests would have been done and they would not have hesitated. The difference being, I am on disability and am pretty much covered for almost everything, my wife on the other-hand is not covered by any-kind of insurance, since it is so expensive and neither of us are able to work. After trying for two years to get her on Medicaid and being told so many stupid reasons why she cannot be covered, we have given up and will probably end up dying of whatever is wrong with us (I refuse to go to the hospital, they won’t help my wife why should I let them help me). There are some of you that will not understand any of this, but there are others who will completely understand. Things need to change for the people and I am not talking about Obamacare.
