Editor, Times-Union: The front page photo of the bike race Sunday with Matt Light’s fifth-placefinish does not tell the amazing story of that race.
That was a one-hour race in which Matt crashed very early in the race. Matt got back up letting the whole field go by. Starting from last place, Matt fought his way up to second place. It was easy to tell Matt Light’s place in the race because of the blood running down his arm.
To get back in the race and just finsh would have been more than most people could have done. But what Matt did was something his family,Warsaw and the county can be proud of. He is our hometown hero. Thanks, Matt.
