Hilda L. Faulkner

BOURBON - Hilda L. Faulkner, 98, of 12057 Elm Road, Bourbon, died June 28, 2009, in Bremen Community Hospital with her family at her side.

She was born Oct. 17, 1910, to Grover and Estella Sechrist Wyman. On Dec. 25, 1928, she married Carl E. Faulkner, who died April 14, 1990.

A faithful member of Bourbon United Pentecostal Church, she taught Sunday school for the toddlers and rarely missed a service until about a year ago for health reasons. She enjoyed crocheting, making plastic canvas crafts for her church bazaar and baking sugar cookies. She loved spending time with her family. She was a homemaker and formerly worked at Orthopedic Equipment Co. as a hand sewer making leg splints for the Army. She was able to travel to Europe with her husband for OEC in the early 1960s and was able to tour many of the countries.

Surviving are a daughter, Joan Weissert, Bourbon; two sons, Don (and spouse Barbara) Faulkner, Bourbon, and Tom (and spouse Norma) Faulkner, Bradenton, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy (and spouse Walter) Sult, Sturgis, Mich. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty; a son-in-law, Ernie Weissert; and three brothers, Dallas, Henry and Ward Wyman.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Mark Cottrill officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.

Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon, is in charge of arrangements.
