Highway Robbery

Editor, Times-Union:
This letter is addressed to the gas station operators in Warsaw. In case you don’t know who they are – they are the ones wearing the green shade and carrying a gun.

In a trip, over the 4th of July holiday, to and from Kansas City to Fort Wayne – gas in Kansas City was $3.28, $3.38, $3.49. All through Kansas, Missouri and Illinois – the highest was $3.56; in Warsaw – $3.79. Does this make sense?

Later, a trip to Fort Wayne from Warsaw and back – gas in Fort Wayne, $3.56; Columbia City, $3.66; and in Warsaw, a week after the holiday, still $3.72. Once again, does this make sense?

I believe the general public would agree – why are the “local yokels” continuing to “hold up” the local citizens that have kept them in business all these years?
