Warsaw Boys Track & Field Competes In HSR Qualifier
MARION – The Warsaw boys track and field team competed in the Hoosier State Relays qualifier at Indiana Wesleyan University on Saturday.
The 4x800 relay team of Xavi Ramierez, Sam Lechlitner, Justin Fleming and Taylor Mills placed second with a time of 8:46.59. The same group competed in the 4,000-meter distance medley relay and placed fourth, crossing the finish in 11:33.11.
Lucas Howett finished fifth in the 3,200-meter event. Alijah Wade placed eighth in the 60-meter dash.
The Tigers will compete on Saturday at the HSR qualifier at Fort Wayne University.
Warsaw Girls Win New Haven Invitational
NEW HAVEN – The Warsaw girls track and field team won the New Haven Invitational held at Fort Wayne University on Saturday. The Lady Tigers scored 90 points.
Tippecanoe Valley and Manchester boys teams finished 15th and 19th, respectively at the meet.
For Warsaw, freshman Kennedy Lauck finished first in the high jump with a height of 5-04. Junior Caitlin Kehler (10-9) and sophomore Sarah Ocock (8-0) earned first and second, respectively in the pole vault.
Senior Mia Beckham tallied third in the 3,200-meter race, finishing with a time of 11:45.20.
Junior Maykayla Clampitt finished fourth in the 60-meter dash, sprinting a time of 8.21 seconds. Senior Kendall Menzie jumped 15-5 in the long jump to capture fourth. Warsaw’s 4x200 relay earned second. The 4x400 relay finished fourth. The distance medley relay finished fifth.
Senior Jameson Baker earned first in the boys shot put with a throw of 47-06.50, tallying 10 team points for the Vikings. Senior Will Hassenplug finished third in shot with a distance of 43-6.
For the Squires, junior Isaiah Davis’ height of 6-2 captured third in the high jump.
Warsaw will compete on Saturday in the HSR qualifier at Fort Wayne University. Valley visits Culver Academy on March 13 and Manchester travels to Southwood on March 22 for its next meet.
