Tiger Track & Field Finishes Fourth At Bulldog Invite
FORT WAYNE – The Warsaw Tigers boys track and field team finished fourth with 55 points on Saturday at the Bulldog Invite at Fort Wayne University.
In the Hoosier State Relays qualfier, Taylor Mills earned second in the 3,200-meter race, crossing the line in 10:12.82. Lucas Howett finished third in the event with a time of 10:24.84.
Mills also finished third on the 4x800-meter relay team with the help of Justin Fleming, Xaxi Ramirez and Sam Lechlitner. The team ran a time of 8:48.75.
The 4x400-meter relay of Tanner Stiver, Keagan Larsh, Eli Owen and Alijah Wade finished fourth. John Svinarch tossed the shot put 48-00.25.
Cameron Neff, Owen, Larsh and Wade finished fifth in the 4x200-meter relay. Marston Norris, Fleming, Howett and Ramierez earned a time of 11:44.52 in the distance medley relay to finish sixth.
The Tigers travel to Fort Wayne Snider High School on March 22 to take on Snider and East Noble.
Wawasee Competes In HSR Qualifier
MARION – The Wawasee boys and girls track and field teams competed at the Hoosier State Relays qualifier at Indiana Wesleyan University on Saturday.
Hannah-Marie Lamle finished third in the long jump with a distance of 16-03. She crossed the line in seventh during the 60-meter dash, sprinting 10.31 seconds.
Elisha Tipping tossed the shot put 44-02.25 for third. Eric Yankosky tallied eighth in the pole vault (10-06).
The 4x800-meter relay of Luke Griner, Thomas Conley, Clay Kelsheimer and Michael Hammer earned third (8:51.00). Kenzie Smith, Caitlin Wortinger, Valeria Pizqua and Ella Beezley earned seventh in the event (11:20.22).
Merle Miller, Conley, Grimer and Yankosky ended the 4x400-meter relay (3:49.12) in sixth place. The girls 4x400-meter relay team of Barley Maghew, Nadia Palacios, Smith and Wortinger tallied a seventh-place finish.
The track meet scheduled at East Noble on Tuesday has been canceled due to the predicted weather forecast. Wawasee will be back in action on March 19 at home, facing Columbia City.
