Tippecanoe Valley Volleyball Sweeps Whitko In TRC Play
AKRON – Sophie Bussard had 12 kills for Tippecanoe Valley in its 25-13, 25-11, 25-15 Three Rivers Conference victory over visiting Whitko Wednesday evening.
Senior libero Olivia Trippiedi had eight digs, and junior Emily Peterson recorded 18 assists for Valley.
Haley Howard had five aces for Whitko, with Kristian Slater and Sarah Hewitt adding 12 digs each.
Whitko (5-22, 1-8 TRC) hosts a tournament on Saturday. Valley (21-11, 5-3 TRC) wraps up its regular and conference seasons today, hosting Southwood.

Manchester, Valley Boys Soccer Teams Eliminated
BUNKER HILL – Both Manchester and Tippecanoe Valley were eliminated from the 2A Maconaquah boys soccer sectional Wednesday night. The Squires’ season ended with a 5-1 loss to Fort Wayne Concordia, while the Vikings closed out with a 2-1 loss to Columbia City.
Caleb Stout scored the Manchester goal, assisted by Noah Beck. The Squires completed their season with a 13-4-1 record.
Trailing 2-0 at halftime, Valley’s Fabian Mar scored the final goal of his career on a penalty kick in the 53rd minute. The Eagle goalkeeper tipped away a desperation shot as time expired.
Valley finished the season with a 1-15 mark.
LCA Has Sectional Game Slip Away
ARGOS – Lakeland Christian held a 4-2 lead over host Argos in the 1A boys soccer semifinal match Wednesday night. But the host Dragons tied the match by the end of regulation, and eventually outscored the Cougars 4-1 in penalty kicks for a 5-4 victory.
Cougar sophomore forward Parker Stewart had a first-half hat trick, with assists going to seniors Elijah Raymond and Garrett McCoomb and junior Theran McKeever. McCoomb scored the fourth LCA goal.
Argos peppered the Lakeland Christian defense and junior goalkeeper Remington Swanson with 24 shots, including 14 shots on goal. The Dragons sent the match into overtime on a header with 35 seconds remaining.
The Cougars finished their season with a 6-11 record.
