High School Roundup – Lady Tiger Golf Splits Rain-Shortened MatchWarsaw’s Izzy Ray posted a career-low 45 to lead the Lady Tigers to a girls golf split with LaPorte and Chesterton Thursday at Stonehenge Golf Club. LaPorte won with a team score of 182 to Warsaw’s 190 and Chesterton’s 216 in the match that was shortened to nine holes due to rain.
Miriam Hagg shot a 46 for Warsaw, with Madelyn Ray at 49, Delaney Wihebrink at 50 and Grayson Kilburn at 51.
The Lady Tigers will compete in the East Noble Invitational at Noble Hawk Golf Club in Kendallville Saturday.
Manchester Finished 2nd In Its Golf Invitational
NORTH MANCHESTER – Kelsey Eichenauer and Samantha Kissel each posted 44s, good for a four-way tie for fifth, to lead Manchester to a second-place finish in the Manchester Invitational Thursday at Sycamore Golf Course.
The Lady Squires’ team score of 181 was four shots behind champion Northridge in the rain-shortened tourney. Manchester was four shots better than third-place Bremen.
Lydia Little’s 45 put her in a tie for ninth place overall. Madyson Ulrey shot a 48 and Cora Barnett a 52, Morgan Stroud a 58 and Alissa Bickerstaff a 60 for Manchester.
“We continued to show growth on the golf course,” Manchester coach Josh Troyer said. “It is never easy to finish second when you’re so close to winning your own tournament but I am proud of our girls and I know we will continue to improve and be ready to compete come September.”
The Lady Squires travel to Syracuse on Monday to take on Wawasee at Maxwelton Golf Club. First tees are scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
Wawasee, Whitko Golf Rained Out Thursday
SYRACUSE – The girls golf match between Whitko, Concord and host Wawasee was rained out Thursday. It was rescheduled for 4:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at Maxwelton Golf Club.
Wawasee will host Manchester at Maxwelton at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
