No. 3 Lady Vikings Roll To Easy Non-Conference Win

WINAMAC – Addy Miller hit six three-pointers on her way to a game-high 26 points for 3A No. 3  Tippecanoe Valley in its 58-33 non-conference girls basketball win over Winamac Thursday night.

Sophie Bussard had 14 points and a team-high five rebounds for the Lady Vikings. Makenzie Woodcox had eight points and four rebounds, and Emily Peterson had five points for Valley.

In the junior varsity game, Sidney Wagner had 10 points for the Lady Vikings in their 24-5 win over Winamac. Emma Craig had six points and Jillian Walls and Karina Young had four points each.

Now 11-1, Valley will take an eight-game win streak into Saturday when it hosts Whitko for a Three Rivers Conference contest.

Warrior Swimmers Sweep Plymouth In NLC Meet

SYRACUSE – Between the Wawasee boys and girls swim teams, the Warriors won all 23 events they entered in rolling to a pair of Northern Lakes Conference wins over visiting Plymouth Thursday evening. The Lady Warriors earned a 112-70 victory, and the Wawasee boys took a 141-43 decision.

Double-winners for the Lady Warriors were Ella Park in the 200 and 500 freestyles, Alyssa Koch in the 200 individual medley and the 100 backstroke, and Rileigh Atwood in the 100 free and 100 breaststroke. Belle Brunner won the 50 free and Abigail Hackelman the 100 butterfly. They also swept all three relay races.

The Warrior boys had a pair of two-event winners: Brett Willaman won the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke, and Jared Krugman took the 50 and 100 frees. Aaron Troutman won the 200 free, Ira Kerlin the diving, Spencer Naugler the 100 butterfly, Brady Robinson the 500 free and Alexander Troutman the 100 breaststroke. Wawasee swept all three relays and finished 1-2-3 in the 200 IM and the 200 and 500 frees.

The Wawasee boys are 4-1 overall and in the NLC, and the Lady Warriors are 3-3 overall and 3-2 in the conference. Both will take on perennial conference power Northridge on Thursday.

Wawasee Wrestlers Roll To Big Win Over Concord


DUNLAP – Wawasee won 12 of 13 matches to roll to a 56-9 Northern Lakes Conference wrestling win at Concord Thursday night.

Winners were Ricardo Romo (113 pounds), Brenden Dilley (120), Chris Schuller (126), Braxton Alexander (132), Garrett Stuckman (138), Isaiah Faroute (145), Raymon Torres (160), Xavier Ortiz (170), Alex Castro (182), Damien Rodriguez (195) Dalton Pearish (220), and Elisha Tipping (285).

Wawasee will host its December Duals Saturday.



Lady Warriors Get Road Win Over Bethany Christian

WATERFORD MILLS – Casey Schroeder had 10 points, Aubrey Kuhn nine and Hannah-Marie Lamle eight for Wawasee in its 43-38 no-conference girls basketball win at Bethany Christian Thursday night.

The Lady Warriors trailed 21-18 at halftime before coming back to take a one-point lead heading into the final quarter. Wawasee held the Lady Bruins without a field goal in the final period.

In the junior varsity game, Rhian Galloway had eight points and Kenzie Smith added six for Wawasee in its 35-14 win over the Lady Bruins.

Wawasee improved to 6-5 overall, and will host Warsaw in a Northern Lakes Conference game Saturday at the Hardwood Tepee.
