BREMEN – After leading 14-13 at halftime, the Bremen Lions scored 20 unanswered points in the third quarter and went on to beat visiting Tippecanoe Valley 41-13 in a non-conference football game Friday night.
The Lions’ Nathan Mullen had 16 carries for 239 yards and four touchdowns in the contest. Bremen’s Jacob Wunder added 11 carries for 87 yards and a touchdown.
Statistics from Tippecanoe Valley were not available at press time.
On Friday the Vikings will host Culver Academies, a 19-0 winner over Twin Lakes in the Eagles’ opening game. Valley will honor the 1992 football sectional champions at halftime of the contest.

Lady Tigers Fall To Hamilton Southeastern
SOUTH BEND – Warsaw’s girls soccer team continued to run the gauntlet that is its early-season schedule Friday at the St. Joseph Invitational, where the Lady Tigers dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 8 Hamilton Southeastern.
The Lady Tigers, for the second time in as many games, allowed a goal in the opening minute of the match. This time they couldn’t mount a comeback.
“When you start your first four games against numbers 9, 8, 1, and 16 if the state, you need to play mistake free and unfortunately that wasn’t us tonight,” Lady Tiger coach Jon Hoover said. “I thought our team played hard, but Hamilton Southeastern was able to disrupt us and break our rhythm.”
The tournament continues today with Warsaw (1-1) facing the No. 1 team in the country, the Penn Lady Kingsmen, at 9 a.m. The Lady Tigers will then wrap up the round-robin tourney will a match against Valparaiso at 4 p.m.
Cougars Soccer Wins
WINONA LAKE – Lakeland Christian got two goals from Parker Stewart and one goal each from Garrett McCoomb and Garrett McKeever in a 5-0 home win over Community Baptist Christian Friday night.
The fifth score came on a CBC own goal.
Stewart and Elijah Raymond had assists for LCA, which had 20 shots on goal in the match.
The Cougars were scheduled to take on Whitko today, but that match was cancelled. LCA will take on Bethany Christian Thursday in Waterford Mills.
