LAKEVILLE – LaVille’s Ethan Kertai scored three touchdowns in the third quarter, and four overall, in the Lancers’ 55-18 win over visiting Triton Friday night in Hoosier North Athletic Conference play.
Triton quarterback James Snyder scored on a two-yard run, then added the two-point conversion to pull the Trojans within two points in the second quarter. The visitors trailed 20-11 at halftime before Kertai had touchdown runs of 65 and 25 yards and returned an interception 65 yards for a TD, one of two pick-sixes for the Lancers after halftime.
The Trojans (0-2 overall and in the HNAC) will have their home opener Friday when Pioneer comes to town for a conference game.

LCA Records Soccer Win
WINONA LAKE – Freshman Parker Stewart scored in the first half for Lakeland Christian Academy, and the Cougars would benefit from an own goal to take a 2-1 win over visiting Victory Christian Academy Friday evening.
Noel Blum and Mark McQuade assisted on Stewart’s goal for LCA. Cougar goalkeepers Cross Williams and Remington Swanson combined for eight saves in the contest.
Lakeland Christian improved its record to 3-2 and will travel to Winamac for a match on Tuesday.
Lady Cougar VB Wins
ARGOS – Kyla Kohler had nine aces, two kills, two digs, three assists and a block to help lead Lakeland Christian Academy to a 25-12, 25-9, 25-15 win at Argos Friday evening.
Carlie Wise had seven aces, four kills and a dig, and Cami Dahms added five aces, two kills and two digs in the Lady Cougar victory.
LCA returns to action today when they host the Southside Michiana Crusaders.
Western Downs Valley
RUSSIAVILLE – The Western Panthers got off to a big early lead and cruised to a 65-14 win over visiting Tippecanoe Valley Friday night in a game delayed by lightning for about an hour.
Valley opens Three Rivers Conference play at home against North Miami Friday night.
Manchester Falls To Bluffton, 12-7
NORTH MANCHESTER – Quarterback Hayes Sturtsman scored a go-ahead touchdown for Manchester in the second quarter, but Bluffton answered in the third period and went on to a 12-7 win over the Squires Friday night.
Manchester (0-2) opens Three Rivers Conference play Friday at Wabash.
