Lady Vikings Edge Closer To TRC Title, Beat Southwood

WABASH – Class 3A No. 8 Tippecanoe Valley clinched at least a tie for the Three Rivers Conference title with a 77-28 girls basketball win at Southwood Saturday night.
For the second time in three games, all 10 Valley players who suited up for the varsity scored. Emily Peterson led the Lady Vikings with 13 points, with Addy Miller and Hannah Dunn scoring 10 points each. Meredith Brouyette hit three shots from beyond the arc for nine points, Sophie Bussard had eight points and Anne Secrest added seven.
Valley plays a non-conference game at Wawasee in Syracuse on Tuesday, and can win the TRC title outright with a home win against Manchester on Thursday.

Couriers Down Vikings
AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley’s Jarod Dusenbery had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds in the Vikings’ 51-43 loss to visiting Clinton Christian Saturday.
Alec Craig had a team-high 16 points, and Keith Wright scored 11 points for the Vikings.
Valley travels to Manchester to take on the Squires in Three Rivers Conference play Friday.

PLYMOUTH – Wawasee used balanced scoring to win 48-31 at Plymouth in a Northern Lakes Conference girls basketball game Saturday night.
Kabrea Rostochak led all scorers with 10 points for the Lady Warriors. Casey Schroeder, Hannah Haines and Aubrey Kuhn had eight points each in the Wawasee win.

Whitko Wins 57-48 Over Lady Norse
WABASH – Brianna Cumberland scored 23 points, and Aly Reiff added 16 in 2A No. 1 Whitko’s 57-48 win at Northfield Saturday.
The win snapped a two-game skid for the Lady Wildcats.
Emalee Duggins had eight points, Hanna Yohe six and Brielle Harrison four for Whitko. Ariel Dale and Jacklyn Peas had 14 points each for Northfield.
Whitko (17-4, 6-1 TRC) hosts Wabash Friday in the home finale for six Lady Wildcat seniors.

Lady Cougars Roll
WINONA LAKE – Lakeland Christian rolled to a 15-0 first-quarter lead and never looked back in a 51-15 win over Traders Point in a girls basketball game Saturday.
Hope Fancil had 23 points and 10 steals for the Lady Cougars. Anna Reimink had nine points and Melissa Goss had 10 steals to go with her four points. Brady Gross had five points, Jess Slone and Heather Plastow had four points each, and Maddie Paris had two for LCA.
Lakeland Christian (11-9) hosts Fort Wayne Blackhawk Thursday night.
