Steffensmeier, Lady Tigers Rout F.W. South Side

FORT WAYNE – Abby Steffensmeier scored four goals for Warsaw in its 12-0 win over 3A girls soccer sectional host Fort Wayne South Side Tuesday night.

The Lady Tigers scored early and often in the win. Gracie Scholl had a pair of goals, with Brenna Buhrt, Dayle Harvey, Brenna Shipley, Sarah Ocock, Haley Zachary, Audrey Grimm and Anna Sullivan all recording single tallies.

Buhrt and Zachary were credited with assists in the match.

The Lady Tigers (11-4-3) will face off against Fort Wayne Wayne Thursday evening, with the winner earning a spot in the sectional final Saturday night.

Manchester Advances, Whitko’s Season Ends

FORT WAYNE – Manchester advanced to the semifinals of the 1A Fort Wayne Blackhawk girls soccer sectional with a 2-1 win over South Adams Tuesday night.

Manchester will take on Woodlan  in the semifinals at 5 p.m. Thursday. The Lady Warriors won 5-0 over Whitko in the first game Tuesday.

After a scoreless first half with the Lady Starfires, Manchester broke through with a goal from Emma Garriott on an assist from Julie Dalsager in the 44th minute. South Adams tied the match in the 65th minute, then Garriott scored the game-winning goal in the 68th minute.

Kiera Stacy had 10 saves for Manchester.

Manchester improved to 12-4-1 on the season. Whitko finished with a 2-15 record.
