Health Care

Editor, Times-Union:

Health care premiums and deductibles are rising at an alarming rate here in Kosciusko County and rest of United States.

I pay $51.50 every two weeks ($1,139 year in premiums) plus a $2,000 deductible into the healthcare system before the insurance will pay a dime. In order to keep this $3,139 package - we can opt to have our blood drawn or face higher premiums.

Well, 2014 is three years away and pre-existing condition clauses still rule the land. We need to freeze premiums and deductibles to 2008 levels when healthcare overhaul was introduced. If we can't afford the premiums, deductibles, hospital, doctor and prescription costs - might just have to cancel the policies and stop taking our medication and become a burden on the wealthy taxpayers.

Let's hear about how much your premiums and deductibles are costing you.
