AVON – Hal Curtis Hull, 71, Avon, died Nov. 14, 2013. He married Brenda Baughn, who survives. He worked as a vocation rehabilitation specialist for the veteran’s administration. He served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Coontz in Vietnam. He was a life member of the DAV, 1st Commander of IUDAV, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Indiana Historical Society, National Genealogy Society, Avon United Methodist Church since 1979, Board of Directors Pastor Parish at the church. He was a graduate of I.U., Bloomington, in 1976, and earned a master’s degree from St. Francis, Fort Wayne, in 1979. Also surviving are a son, Cory S. Hull, Avon; two daughters, Kelly (and spouse Eric) Wood, Brownsburg, and Cathy (and spouse Brian) Sturm, Avon; three brothers, Norval, Darl and Clarence Hull; three sisters, Janice Southern, Helen Shepler and Ruth Williams; a sister-in-law, Pat Trainer; a brother-in-law, Terry Baughn; and six grandchildren, Dustin, Erica, Trey, Derek, Trystan and Travis. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Gary Steven, Charles and Dean Hull and Bernard and Lawrence Wilkerson. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Avon UMC. Burial will be in Westridge Park Cemetery. Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service at the church.
