We are writing in support of Sheriff Rocky Goshert. Although we have known Rocky for many years, we recently had the opportunity to see firsthand his leadership at work! Rocky has further proven himself as a leader while serving the youth of Lakeview Middle School, both as their football and boys basketball coach.
Our youngest son was a member on these teams where Rocky served as the head coach. As our son's coach, Rocky showed many qualities that separate him from other leaders/coaches. His ability to hold kids to the highest of expectations, have demanding practices, yet still show love, compassion and respect for all he serves are traits that very few leaders possess. Rocky is honest with his student-athletes and will challenge them to be their absolute best, whether in the classroom, on the field or court, and at home. He holds students accountable if they fall short in these areas, something we as parents appreciate greatly from a leader!
Another quality Rocky possesses as a leader is his compassion for kids. He understands the development of children and that there is learning that must take place. He is willing to go above and beyond to teach! As parents, we appreciate this quality in Rocky. Our son learned much more than just football and basketball while under Rocky's leadership. He learned discipline, hard work, integrity and communication.
These qualities are how Rocky genuinely leads our community. His experience in working with all members of our community makes us feel confident in his ability to continue to lead Kosciusko County.
We are forever grateful to Rocky for playing such an important role in our son's life and we are pleased to support Sheriff Rocky Goshert, a proven leader!
