In all my 93 years of living, I think we are living in a most unusual era. I say that for two of many reasons.
As I understand, one out of two marriages now break-up and divorce. One of the reasons for that I think is liquor. I believe that if the strength of beer was brought back to the strength it had when prohibition began, people would not get drunk so quickly. If a politician would have a bill where the public could vote, we just may help that problem a bit.
We are all God's creation. We are on this earth for a special reason. Husband and wife when married are no longer two people, but one. Mark 10:8. The main purpose of marriage is to repopulate. For children to have correct bringing up, divorces are asking their children to go to and fro. Dad lives at one address and the mother at another.
Secondly, mothers having children with no husband to assist is like mother baking a cake and just putting half the recipe in it. That is a description of the problem they created for themselves. Usually, that does not lead to happiness. I doubt the cake would taste good either. It really leads to unhappiness for three people - the father, child and mother. Don't you think when the child grows up, he or she would feel he or she got short-changed?
If someone said to a person you can have $1,000, what would you think of that person if he or she said, "not interested?" Our God wants us to be happy, but some it seems are saying, "not interested, I prefer to be unhappy."
Life is full of choices. Christ was tempted. I think everyone is tempted some in this world. The Bible says, "... let us put on the full armor of light (God)."
When in high school, I took geometry. I learned equations. The best equation I know is "Christ = Bible = Truth." God's Word leads to real happiness. Sometime I kind of laugh at myself. I think I am like a kettle of potatoes boiling on a stove when the cover is jumping up and down. Truthfully, sometimes I feel I am bubbling over with God's blessings and joy.
The choice is ours. The price is right. Buy without money. Isaiah 55:1. What a bargain. Start today to build a legacy you will be happy with when old. Thank God who made it possible. To Him be the glory. Amen.
