BOURBON - Glenda M. McFarland, 65, of 200 W. Florence St., Apt. 15, Bourbon, passed away July 16, 2010, in Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home, Plymouth.

She was born May 20, 1945, in Warsaw, to Glenn and Alice Ellsworth Secrist.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Bourbon American Legion Auxiliary. She was a resident of the Bourbon and Mentone areas most of her life and was able to spend time with family in Texas, Louisiana and Alaska until she recently moved back to the Bourbon area. She was a 1963 graduate of Mentone High School.

Surviving are three children: Dawn (and spouse David) Birkey, Lewisville, Texas; Tonya White, Fort Wayne; and Patrick (and spouse Brenda) McFarland, Bourbon; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two sisters, Ellen Elliott and Serita (and spouse William) King, all of Bourbon; and three brothers: Jerry (and spouse Mary) Secrist, Mentone; Larry (and spouse Jean) Secrist, Columbia City; and Steve (and spouse Donita) Secrist, Milford. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Secrist.

In keeping with Glenda's wishes there will be no funeral services.

The family welcomes friends and family to share memories Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Bourbon American Legion.

Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon, is in charge of arrangements.
