SYRACUSE – Glenda K. “Kay” Byrd, 63, of Syracuse, died at 3:06 p.m. July 30, 2013, in I.U. Goshen Hospital. She was born April 13, 1950, in Goshen, to Glenn and Harriett Baker Biller. On Sept. 5, 1970, in Syracuse, she married Jerry L. Byrd, who survives. She was a lifetime Syracuse area resident and attended Syracuse High School. She formerly worked at Wawasee Community School Corporation as a cook at Syracuse Elementary for eight years and many years ago at R.R. Donnelley & Sons, Warsaw. Also surviving are a daughter, Gina (and spouse Kevin) Grindle, Syracuse; a son, Wesley Byrd, Warsaw; four grandchildren; and a sister, Lynn Thornburg. She was preceded in death by a son. No services or calling are planned. A private burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery.
