Glade N. Rogers, age 90, of Cromwell, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at his residence.
He was born on Feb. 1, 1935, to Gerald and Grace Guthrie Rogers. Glade married Elaine Roberts on Jan. 11, 1980, in Columbia City.
Glade is survived by his wife, Elaine Rogers, of Cromwell; sister, Jeanne Sautter, of Albuquerque, N.M.; several nieces and nephews; special friend and caregiver, Rachel Taylor, of Cromwell; and special friend, Gaylord Cunningham.
Glade graduated from Albion High School in 1953. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Greenland. Glade was a farmer most of his life and loved John Deere equipment. He also drove his own semi, hauling grain, and worked on the railroad after his service in the military. Glade and Elaine enjoyed overwintering in Florida and traveling extensively. Glade had a great sense of humor and always loved to tell jokes. He was a very thankful person and always gave thanks at the end of every conversation.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 20 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier. A service will be held to commemorate the life of Glade at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 20 at the funeral home. Rev. Rachel Bales-Case will officiate. Burial will take place at Indian Village Cemetery in Cromwell.
