GOSHEN - George W. Lowe, 52, of 2402 Berkey Ave., Goshen, died at 8:50 p.m. Aug. 12, 2008, in Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis. He had leukemia for 18 months.
He was born June 8, 1956, in Warsaw, to Jerry C. and Serita Kay Wertenberger Lowe, who survive in Syracuse. On May 6, 1995, in Syracuse, he married Susan Roth, who survives.
Moving to Goshen from Syracuse 13 years ago, he drove a front-end loader for Aggregate Industries for 13 years, and formerly worked at Zimmerman Gravel, Milford. He was a member of First United Church of Christ, Cromwell Masonic Lodge and Sons of the American Legion, North Webster, and a lifetime member of United States Bowling Congress.
Also surviving are a daughter, Kaitlyn Lowe, at home; a stepson, Ryan Roth, Elkhart; a stepdaughter, Alicia Roth, at home; and two sisters, Mary (and spouse Bret) Lowe Aker, Warsaw, and Linda (and spouse Steve) Yoder, Syracuse.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, with the Rev. Carl Adams officiating. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
