SYRACUSE - George "Ray" Schisler, 79, of Cromwell, died at 3:47 p.m. June 5, 2009, in Goshen General Hospital.
He was born July 28, 1929, in Muncie, to George Washington and Ruth Schisler. On Sept. 8, 1950, he married Edra Arlene Ridenbach, who died July 24, 2003.
He attended Muncie Public Schools. He moved to the Cromwell area about 40 years ago from Muncie and retired from Venture Welding, Elkhart, as a truck driver after 10 years of service. He was a member of the Indian Village United Methodist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Nancy K. Schisler, Cromwell, and Vickie J. Schisler and Linda J. (and spouse Darrell) Smith, all of Glenwood, Calif.; a son, Bob R. (and spouse Debbie) Schisler, Syracuse; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter and a half brother.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse, with Pastor Duane Ginder officiating. Burial will be in Indiana Village Cemetery.
